In March 2018, whilst still operating as Southern Lurcher Rescue, we took in a little lurcher girl who had been picked up as a stray in Kent and ended up in the pound. Betty was estimated to be about a year old and, being both a rough coat and cat-friendly (a much sought after combination!), the applications were soon rolling in from potential adopters. Unfortunately she suffered complications after her neutering operation, but as soon as she had fully recovered and been thoroughly assessed by her foster mum, off she went to her 'happy ending'.
Unfortunately, shortly after SLR closed its doors as a rescue in May, her new family got in touch to say that things weren't working out. We have therefore secured her a place with the lovely people at Hounds First Sighthound Rescue and sent her on her way with a generous £1000 donation, to cover all her costs and repay Hounds First for their help. We are confident that the Hounds First team will ensure that Betty finds her forever home, so be happy little Betty! Comments are closed.
